School Library Journal's Battle of the Kids' Books is a competition between 16 of the very best books for young people of the year, judged by some of the biggest names in children's books.

I just want to say that this is SUCH A COOL IDEA! I am a total book junkie and I was suprised that I had never heard of this “battle” before this year, but now that I do know about it I’m following it sort of obsessively. So kudos to whoever thought this up.
