“Vote for Me!” quaver our contenders. “Please.”

As The Battle of the Kids’ Books follows a single-elimination model, once a book is knocked off, it has to stay in the metaphorical Land of the Dead, until the final two are left standing, facing each other off.
However, there is hope yet, for one of the previously eliminated title to come back from the Dead. You, yes, you, alone and together, hold the power of a necromancer – by voting for your favorite title.
Click on the Undead Poll link on the sidebar and cast your vote! The book that receives the most votes that is not one of the two finalists will rise from the Underworld and see the glorious light of the Final Round.
Judge Paterson will read all three titles with equal care to each and make her final decision on April 5th.
The Undead Poll opens today and will close on March 14th. The result will remain secret until the end of March. One vote per person, please!

I was so shocked that Marcelo didn’t win the Printz, or even an honor. I’m hoping it’s not eliminated, but if it is wrongly eliminated again…hopefully voting for it will help!
Whoah, we have to vote for the zombie book before we know what died?! That leads to a radically different strategy than I was envisioning.
And… what happens if the winner of the Zombie poll is one of the finalists anyway? Does the next highest vote-getter get Zombified? (or third highest, if the top two in the poll are the two finalists?)
Yes, Miriam, the book with the most votes without being the top two contenders will be coming back as The Undead.
I’m just adding a bit of extra insurance as I’m sure The Lost will not come out on the losing end.
I have to choose just one? Good luck to the judges, there are many excellent books on this list@@
I voted for FIRE and my 6th grader voted for WHEN YOU REACH ME. It’s not an easy choice, though. Great list!
TALES FROM OUTER SUBURBIA here. It’s really a standout title (though not, I think, as amazing as Tan’s THE ARRIVAL).
Elissa, I voted for MARCELO and my 4th grader voted for WHEN YOU REACH ME (which was an extremely close second for me – I was more worried that Marcelo would get overlooked again).
